Although Toronto doesn’t have the romantic reputation (yet!) of Paris or Venice or even Montreal, it’s actually a perfect place to celebrate your love!

The cold weather forces you to snuggle close to your honey. The variety of romantic things to do around here gives you options. And then, of course, there’s the intimacy of the Strathcona Hotel that makes a love-filled weekend even more lovely.

Grab your Valentine and head out on one of these amorous adventures!

Take to the skies

If you and your sweetheart thrive on adrenaline and love to see things from a different point of view, take the ferry to the Billy Bishop airport, hit the Toronto Heli Tours outpost and embark on an exciting helicopter ride for just the two of you! Hold hands and marvel at the elevated views of Toronto’s beautiful downtown and harbour.

Eat, drink, love

Charming shops and restos and galleries have been popping up all over Dundas West. Romantically lit by candles and vintage lamps, Wallflower is a great place for an intimate dinner. Start with some oysters for their aphrodisiac effect. Later, slip across the street to Black Dice Café, a kitschy rockabilly bar with a fantastic jukebox and a stellar selection of Japanese whiskeys.

Let your love light shine

With lights that sparkle and twinkle and glimmer in a truly romantic way, the Toronto Light Fest is an antidote to the darkness of our winter days. Take in this celebration, created by local and international artists, from the historic cobblestones of the lovely Distillery District. Afterwards, hit the district’s Cluny Bistro for some warming French onion soup, then top off the night with a rousing Mexican hot chocolate from Soma Chocolatiers. The Aztecs were the first to discover chocolate’s aphrodisiac properties!

Melting moments

The Elmwood Spa, an upscale spa just north of the Eaton Centre, is offering an Exotic Escape! This elite package for lovers includes a 50-minute couple’s massage and a four-course Thai dinner for two at Bangkok Garden. Check out the spa’s water therapy pools, too.

Music and magic

For a thrilling evening of fantasy, magic and sheer playfulness, the COC is presenting Atom Egoyan’s production of Mozart’s whimsical romcom, Cosi Fan Tutte, at the beautiful Four Seasons Centre, a venue built specifically for opera and ballet. After the performance, head back to the Strathcona for a snack or a nightcap from our excellent room service menu.

Toronto has so much fun and romance to offer! We’re glad you came to visit… and you will be too!
